Welcome
A Message from our Chapter President
Greetings and welcome to our website!
Since its inception in 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® has upheld its mission to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and friendship among college women, to study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature, to maintain a progressive interest in college life, and to be of “service to all mankind.”
Gamma Iota Omega Chapter is committed to achieving this mission by supporting the 2022-2026 international initiatives. Under the guidance of International President Danette Anthony Reed, we are Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood through engaging, empowering, and elevating our service efforts to meet the needs of the Greater Lynchburg community. Our chapter’s programming is at the center of our service delivery, and our membership is committed to utilizing its impact and influence to create modern solutions to the communities most challenging needs in a unified manner. Service is what we do, but sisterhood is who we are!
Join us as we leverage our talents and resources to honor our past as we impact our present to create a better future for all. We are moving to the next level of excellence! If you would like to grow with us, please consider visiting one of our chapter meetings or participating in an upcoming event or program. We also welcome opportunities to partner with you, and any organizations and corporations with a similar mission. Together, we will make a difference in the Greater Lynchburg area.
In Sisterhood and Service,
